I have often heard people say that their child has autism level 1 , 2 or 3. It is my humble opinion that autism is autism. Depending on how serious it is will determine the level of support.

Autism Level 1 is the mildest form of autism. People at this level may have difficulty initiating social interaction and maintain conversations. They may appear to have less interest in social interactions but still engage in them with some support . Also, there are some noticeable difficulties with organisational and planning ,which can hamper independence. However, with minimal support , they can manage these challenges.

Autism Level 2 . At this level , people have more significant challenges in verbal and nonverbal communication . They also struggle with social interactions and require more direct and frequent support . They also engage in more obvious repetitive behaviours and have difficulty coping with change , often needing a structured and supportive environment to manage daily tasks.

Autism Level 3 is when people with autism have distinct autism traits such as being nonverbal and unable to connect with people . They might have severe sensitivity to lights , loud noises . They can demonstrate certain behaviours such as rocking and stimming. They are also prone to a very high risk for neglect and abuse as they require 24/7 care.
